About Mike's Dirt Bike Suspension
Mike's Dirt Bike was started in 1996 in Duncan, Oklahoma.  Recognizing the need for a dirt bike-oriented shop in that part of Oklahoma, Mike Connell opened his shop and performed all types of bike repair, race preparation, and suspension tuning.  During that time, Mike worked as a design engineer for an oil and gas service company and the dirt bike shop was a side business.

Mike is a mechanical engineer with a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He also holds a master's degree in business administation from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  He is a registered professional engineer and has authored numerous technical papers on oil and gas technology.  He is an inventor or co-inventor on over twenty US patents relating to oilfield products and services.

Mike started racing dirt bikes in 1972 and rode motocross in Texas in his earlier days.  While in college, he started racing cross country events on the TCCRA circuit.  He rode several seasons in the Pro class and has raced off-road at the expert level since then.  In recent years, he occasionally competes on the OCCRA circuit and spends time trail-riding in Colorado with friends.

Currently, Mike rides a KTM 250 XCW and does an occasional trials event on a Beta 300 four stroke.  He also has a Tiger 800 XCX for adventure riding.
